Heather honey is harvested everywhere in Northern and Western Europe from flourishing heath flowers.

This rather non-transparent honey is never completely solid or liquid, but slightly jelly-like.  

It has a strong odour and a kind of a bitter/sweet flavour that is not always very pleasant. It has a dark brown colour with red dominant tones.

This honey contains many minerals and is available on the market to a limited extent only.
