Posthumous homage to founder A. J. Florizoone

The fact that people from Belgium can hold their own with the best was demonstrated once again.

In November 1999 the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions IAAPA paid posthumous homage to Meli founder A. J. Florizoone in Atlanta for his pioneering work in the amusement park industry.

The IAAPA annually honours a few legendary figures who gave shape to the attractions industry by inducting them in the Hall of Fame.

A.J.Florizoone’s portrait is now displayed next to those of great figures such as Walt Disney and the other European pioneer:Anton Pieck, the originator of Efteling.

The Westhoek region will for a long time continue to reap the rich fruits of the work of the spirited founder of Meli, a businessman focused on children and family as well as nature and leisure.

Meli honey remains the mission of the Florizoone family.

With the production centre in Veurne as base of operations, they want to share the wonders of honey in general and Meli products in particular with the rest of Europe and the world.
In this respect the Meli Park lives on in the Meli products.

The family notices that the memory of the Meli Park is still very much alive.  This pleases them immensely and they therefore welcome your reactions and comments.

You can leave them in the “Guestbook” on this website. In this manner the memory of A J Florizoone will be kept alive.  With thanks from the Florizoone family.
