On the occasion of the 1958 World Exposition Meli built a 1.200 m² pavilion with dancing fountains, a bee show and a large sales area within.
Meli and its products were introduced to thousands of people in this manner.
At the end of Expo 58, Meli was given permission to establish a park on the grounds of “Vrolijk België”. The result was a small replica (4.5 ha) of Meli Park in Adinkerke.
Together with the Atomium and the Observatory, it was a popular destination for thousands of buses passing through or around Brussels. The bird park and the zoo enabled Brussels youngsters to get acquainted with animals and nature.
In 1987 Meli Brussels had to make room for the current Brupark and Kinepolis complex.
